Coach Nurse is the visionary behind Jewel Athletic Scholastic Institute (JASI), bringing over two decades of experience in education, athletic performance, and youth development. With a strong foundation in both Exercise & Sports Science and Business Administration from Texas State University, she has built JASI on a mission to develop not just skilled athletes—but confident, disciplined young women prepared for life.
Known for her motivational leadership, genuine connection with athletes, and results-driven approach, Coach Nurse blends high-level basketball training with mentorship that goes beyond the court. Her ability to communicate, inspire, and hold athletes accountable creates an environment where players grow mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Coach Nurse holds multiple elite certifications, including Personal Training (ACE) and Performance Enhancement (NASM), along with EC-12 certifications in Physical and Health Education. Her expertise allows her to develop athletes through structured, progressive training rooted in proper technique, conditioning, and game application.
Her extensive coaching career spans multiple school districts across the San Antonio area, alongside years of hands-on experience in sports training, program development, and business management. As the founder of JASI, she has successfully trained and mentored athletes since 2008, building a respected platform focused on long-term development and impact.
A former semi-professional basketball player and team captain, Coach Nurse understands firsthand what it takes to compete, lead, and succeed. Her playing experience, combined with her professional background, gives her a unique ability to relate to athletes while pushing them to reach their full potential.
